Background

Challenge
The Countys organizational structure was characteristic of major local governments; many different departments each accountable for their own payroll. Prior to engaging PayAll Solutions, all functions were being performed internally using a single mainframe, yet each entity used their own processing methods and each required unique reporting. The client was experiencing a costly duplication of efforts in payroll processing and was unable to efficiently execute the individualized reports required for internal oversight and governmental compliance.
Solution
The County implemented PayAll Complete, PayAll Solution’s
suite of payroll processing, tax and reporting services.
- Using our customizable platform, PayAll Solutions defined and developed over 100 customized payroll reports unique to the needs of the various departments and enabled an ad hoc reporting system capable of producing reports in a matter of minutes.
- PayAll Solutions was able to accommodate the different payroll submission
methods that various departments were accustomed to using. For example:
Several payroll managers felt more comfortable using Excel spreadsheets
while others wanted the ease of our intranet entry method. Despite
the varying methods of compiling the data, PayAll Solutions was able
implement a flexible method of auto allocation while also allowing 24 hour
access to the system from multiple locations.
- To increase the accuracy and productivity of the finance department,
PayAll Solutions provided a customized general ledger interface.
The bottom line outcome:
a) The County realized significant cost savings by leveraging economies of scale throughout the organization, and b) Each entity and the county as a whole are now able to manage their business more effectively as a result of enhanced, customized reporting.
